A Walk on the Wild Side update ...

I am a person that has many UFOs, in many mediums, as I bore quickly with one thing. A "Walk on the Wild Side" is a American Needlework Guild's (ANG) project that I have taken on through my cyber chapter, "CyberPointers." It is a three canvas piece that is worked and then put together to form a somewhat 3-D picture. My color scheme is purple, red and blue - yes I know, purple is so not Shirley, but hey, you do what you gotta do.


I am way behind on this class - guess I won't be sending it in for evaluation, as I will never finish it on time! Oh, I got started on time and was actually ahead of the game. But then the needlework friend frog "Rip-It" came to visit. I had thought that my colour scheme was red, white and blue but no, I find out after I have started the wave that I had purple, red and blue. So out it all had to come, and out it came.

Started over and instead of being ahead, I am behind. Then it was time for vacation and we were winging off to Spain. The stretch bars are way too big for my suitcase or carryon so it got left behind. Instead I opted for my old travel standby - the small blocks that spell Christmas.

I returned from holiday full of vim and vigor and began to happily stitch away; And stitched, and stitched, hoping to be able to eventually catch up. Got to the last section of wave (I am stitching top to bottom here) and .... Oh no, I am one row off, and way down here at the bottom. Can I salvage it without the dreaded visitor, "Rip-It"? I walked away to mull the situation, returning to look at it several times throughout the day. No, I sadly admit, there is no other way. So my friend and foe, "Rip-It" once again attacked the canvas. Oh my, now I am really, really behind.

In order to repair what was taken out in the pre-work, I have to buy more thread. That is not an easy task here in the Highlands of Panama as you are at the mercy of the desired colors by the locals. Is DMC 797 available? off I will go later today to find out. In the meantime, I have once again started to replace the waves, this time from the bottom up.
